Help! I have no clue what’s wrong with my Fiddle Leaf Fig. There are chunks of pigment/leaves missing on the underside of the leaves. It’s only on three of the leaves, most having 2 spots. I wouldn’t have noticed however as light hits the leaves they show as lighter green spots. It’s only on the underside of the leaves, and can’t be noticed from up top.
I got my fig on the 5th of April. Repotted it twice because there were bugs laying eggs in the soil, and it has been doing a lot better since; just gave birth to two new leaves. The soil I used was cactus soil mixed with some normal potting soil, and if I remember correctly I also placed some pebbles at the bottom of the pot. There is no drainage hole. The pot itself is cement.
I have it on a windowsill at an east facing window, and it gets some of those early morning rays of sun, but most is just indirect light throughout the day. I’ve been watering it about every 7-10 days (anything from a cup to two cups of water), and with the last watering (yesterday, May 26th) I gave it some fertilizer as well, and today I noticed those spots. I also mist it every day, which I know could be damaging.
Could that be from the fertilizer? I followed the instructions on the bottle, so I dont know what went wrong.. Please help!! I hate to see my fig like this ):
