ok so I’ve had my plant for a year and a half. He loves the spot he’s in and has been growing so well! The older leaves are not smooth and shiny, never have been. They’ve got dried light brown on the edges, which I though was from under watering, but now my newest leaf (big and beautiful) has these rust coloured dots all over it and a dried edge already and it’s only a week old! I water once a week, until water comes out the bottom and I empty the tray so it’s not sitting in water. I have poke holes in the soil for oxygen etc, I’m getting a moisture meter to check, but is the new leaf dealing with edema? Why are the older leaves wavy with crunchy edges? It’s not spider mites, got rid of those before lol. Please help! It’s doing so well finally, but now old leaves and new leaves are messed up!

Hello Heather,
I am glad you will be getting a moisture meter. Do you use fertilizer every time you water?
This link will give you more info specifically on Edema: https://fiddleleaffigplant.com/edema-on-fiddle-leaf-fig-leaves/
It could be Edema, but it can also be other problems. Read here to see if it might be something else: https://fiddleleaffigplant.com/little-red-or-brown-spots-plaguing-new-growth-on-your-fiddle-leaf-fig-tree-heres-why-and-what-to-do/
